The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) Office of Autism Research Coordination (OARC) is hosting their annual special event to recognize National Autism Awareness Month. This year’s event features Asperger’s Are Us, the first comedy troupe composed entirely of people diagnosed with Asperger syndrome. This online event will run from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM ET and include a Q&A session.

About Asperger’s Are Us:

Asperger’s Are Us is the first comedy troupe composed entirely of people diagnosed with Asperger syndrome. The group met in 2005 when Noah Britton was a camp counselor for New Michael Ingemi, Jack Hanke, and Ethan Finlan. Since 2010, they have written and performed over 150 original sketch comedy shows in 10 countries including the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Canada. Their comedic style focuses on deadpan wordplay and dark absurdism. Their self-titled documentary Asperger’s Are Us debuted on Netflix in 2016, and their six-part documentary series On Tour with Asperger’s Are Us aired on HBO in 2019.
