Our social skills Adult Group for ages 18+ will start on Thursday January 18th, 2018 and run for through May 3rd, 2018.
Adult Group will take place each Thursday from 4:00pm-5:30pm at MUSC IOP 5 South.
This Adult Group marks the first time we’re running the PEERS for Young Adults curriculum.
PEERS is “a 16-week evidence-based social skills intervention for motivated young adults, who are interested in learning skills to make and keep friends and develop romantic relationships. During each group session, young adults are taught important social skills and are given the opportunity to practice these skills.”
Flyers and additional information will follow, but don’t wait to register for Adult Group!
Please call (843) 792-9162 to confirm your attendance with Lavinia Bowens.
I am only diagnosed with ADHD. I am also almost 40, with hardly any social skills. Can I join? I have insurance but does BCBS pay with without an autism diagnosis? Thanks
Hello Amanda, thank you for reaching out! We’d love to help you discern whether the Adult Group is a good fit for you personally. Please give us a call at (843) 792-9162 during regular business hours to discuss, and/or schedule an intake meeting; this will help us to assess whether the group is a good fit for your needs. Also, most private insurance is accepted and there is a discount for self-pay. Looking forward to connecting with you!
Are there separate fees for the Parent/Coach Group or is that group included in the Adult Group fee? Thank you in advance.
Hello Betsy! To the best of my knowledge, the Parent/Coach Group is a required part of the Adult Group, so no separate fees. (In terms of fees overall, Medicaid covers our program 100%, most private insurance is accepted, and there is a discount for self pay.)
If you haven’t already, please give us a call at (843) 792-9162 during regular business hours to confirm attendance in the Adult Group; we look forward to seeing you and your loved one there!
