The next Piece it Together wellness program begins on Wednesday May 22nd at 4:15PM. The program is open to ages 12 and up. This session will be a HYBRID Piece it Together program: athletes may choose to participate virtually through Zoom OR attend in-person at the MUSC Wellness Center (downtown Charleston).
This will be a 6-week program on Tuesdays. This comprehensive program is designed for teens and young adults with high functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder, as well as other mild neurodevelopmental disabilities. The goals of this program are to increase physical activity, improve body composition, promote healthy food choices, broaden social skills, teach relaxation skills and improve mood and calmness.
No diagnosis is necessary for people to join this group so if someone has anxiety or depression or OCD or ADHD or NO DX then we will welcome them! Any age above 11-12 is welcome to join us including transitional age and adult participants.
We welcome health care professionals and students and think that their participation is helpful to group members. (just ask them to email us so that we know to expect them). .
